It's becoming my practice to hike the Sulphur Banks trail and the Rim Trail around Halema'uma'u on the Summer Solstice. I start out thinking that I'm only going to do part of it, but once I get going, I keep going. It's a good place to meditate and say a few prayers along the way. The Jagger Museum has become considerably more crowded at dusk, due to all the lava activity that happened a couple of months ago. It's probably better to show up there in the wee hours of the morning.
As a result of yesterday's walk, I slept for a solid 10 hours last night. I'm really making up for all the lack of sleep from which I suffer during the school year. I also seem to be healing from the medical procedures and bugs that were plaguing me in May.
Hawaii Island is indeed "the healing place."
