This weekend in Santa Cruz...

It's great to do the "around town" things while we're still here.  This weekend: Santa Cruz Holiday Parade, including the SCHS Cardinal Regiment.  I'm in complete awe of all of my colleagues at SCHS. It's on honor to find myself intheir midsts.  Then there was the lighted boat parade, and it was the best one in years.  Sunday, we celebrated Oliver's 5th birthday at Blue Ball Park.  We capped it all off with a walk downtown.  We were very happy to run into our good friend Jeff, whom we haven't seen in quite a while.  We walked back by way of the main beach and saw Roaring Camp Holiday Train. 

In a couple of weeks, Shawn and I will be celebrating 30 years of "official" marriage, and 31 years of living in Santa Cruz.  We feel like we're completing a wonderful circle here, and we're feeling very nostalgic these days.
