Shawn and Dave have begun their journey north aboard the ferry Malaspina. The Columbia has been having mechanical issues, so they're on a smaller ship this time. It ooks like Dave scored primo sleeping spots for the 36-hour ride. Meanwhile, I've just finished another Santa Cruz High graduation with the very "¡fenomenal!" class of 2014. Right now, I'm spending loads of time attending farewell gatherings and retirement send-offs, while I get our Santa Cruz house ready for summer visitors. I'm also packing for my own "Great Pacific Triangle" migration. Hawaii on Monday, then hop another couple of flights to Alaska to join Shawn in time for the commercial salmon opener. Yes, I'm on the tired side right now, but I really am a "lucky bum" as one of my colleagues put it.
